Highlights of 2011 annual collector plates by Lenox, Spode, Royal Copenhagen, and Nikko.
Lenox has issued the 21st plates in the both the "Trees around the World" and "Annual Holiday" plate series. The 2011 Trees Around the World Plate celebrates Chile and they're unique Christmas traditions. Hanging from the tree are tamarillos, a native fruit. At the foot of the tree are a plate of empanadas, Chile's most popular snack food. This year the 2011 Annual Holiday plate features an inviting snowman standing at the center of a tranquil winter scene. In addition, there's an annual accent plate, which shows a French Horn with festive decorations of holly leaves and berries on an ivory background.

The Nikko Sleigh Ride annual Christmas plate is the 19th in the series of Nikko Holiday Spirit dated plates. The plate features a center scene of a horse-drawn sleigh beneath a starry night winter sky running past the signature Nikko Christmas tree, three holly sprays around the outside rim and the year 2011 at the bottom front of the plate. The backstamp features the name of the plate, and the year. Available round or octagonal.

Each year Spode designs a new Dated Annual Collectors plate featuring a border unique to that year, making it highly collectible. Since 1938, The "Christmas Tree" Collection by Spode has been the collector’s first choice in holiday dinnerware. The 2011 plate was designed with candy canes, holly, and red & green bead garland, all banded in red around the around the rim. The 2010 plate is also shown below, which has a multi-color border with with holly sprigs around the trim.

Royal Copenhagen is continuing 104 year old tradition by launching the 2011 colletor plates. The famous blue christmas plate and other decorative pieces have come out each year since 1908, featuring a motif from Danish Nature, History and Tradition. A great way to join the history!
